Blake Shelton 2/22/08

The Blake Shelton show was awesome! (He's no Rascal Flatts but... lol).

We got down to the 4th & B a little later than we wanted to because I had to pick my husband up at the airport and his flight was delayed by 2 hours. So we got down there about 5:00. We hung around Blake's bus hoping to see him but no luck. The box office opened about half an hour after we got there. Belle surprised me by buying my ticket since it was my birthday (well today is...). Thank you Belle!

We got in line to wait for the doors to open. We had to wait about an hour. There were three women ahead of us in line who were in Blake's fan club and they had meet and greet passes. One of the women turned around and offered Belle her extra pass! I swear, Belle has the best luck!! Of course, I was jealous and Belle did offer to give it to me but I said no, because, honestly, if I was given a pass I wouldn't want to give it up. After about an hour they opened the doors.

We had an awesome spot in front of the stage! There was a barricade about 2-3 feet out from the stage and we were right up against that, to the right of Blake. We couldn't have gotten any closer. I saved our spots while Belle went to her meet and greet. She was nice enough to get Blake to sign a picture for me. I thought that was really sweet of her (and him).

The show started and it was awesome! We weren't really sure what to expect because we knew Blake was sick. Belle saw him in LA on Wednesday and she said the show was really rushed and it was obvious he didn't feel well. So we were hoping he was feeling better by last night! Obviously he was!! He totally put his all into every song. He was joking around and flirting with the girls in the audience. He's such a cutie! I don't even know how many songs he sang. When he came out for the encore, which was supposed to be two songs according to the set list, he sang for 45 minutes! He just kept going and going. He even sang a song that gave Belle and I an idea for a sign for Rascal Flatts in Vegas... *wink*

After the show we saw a group of people hanging around his bus along with one of the DJs from the local radio station. The DJ and a group of about 5 girls were so drunk of their asses, it was quite entertaining. We hung around for a while in case Blake decided to come out but he didn't so we left. Or I should say we attempted to leave...

When we parked, there were no cars around us. Well, of course, by the time the show was over the lot was full and the cars on either side of us and behind us weren't parked very well. It took us 17 minutes of backing up and going forward 3 inches at a time (literally) to get out of that spot. It was quite interesting. Let me just say, it's a good thing neither of us had been drinking. That would have been a disaster! LOL!

On a sidenote, I didn't know that Brandon Blackstock was Blake's tour manager now! It was nice to see him again. He's such a cutie!

Here are the pictures and videos I took.
